Iván Estrella de Los Angeles has created the premiere Vicente Fernandez Tribute program in the world that thousands have enjoyed. From the time Iván’s father took him to see Vicente Fernandez perform live at age 7, Iván has dedicated his life to the artform of Mariachi music and Vicente Fernandez.

In 2005, Iván began formal training at UCLA under the guidance of Maestro Chuy Guzman of the Grammy Award winning group Mariachi Los Camperos. He performed with UCLA’s Award winning Mariachi de UCLAtlán. Once he graduated in the class of 2007 with honors, Iván Estrella began the journey to hone his craft with Mariachi groups across the greater Los Angeles region.

In 2010, Iván’s life changed when he entered and won an International singing contest held by none other than Vicente Fernandez himself. As part of the victory, Iván was flown to Guadalajara, and driven out to Vicente’s famous Rancho Los Tres Potrillos to spend the day with him. Iván was able to tell Vicente that he has attended over 100 concerts since that first concert at age 7. It was a Dream Come True.

It hasn’t been easy for Iván. At age 13 he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and Neuro Myelitis Optica. This disease affects the central nervous system and can cause blindness, paralysis, or even death. Iván has experienced serious physical challenges since then, including almost complete blindness. This has not deterred him from pursuing his dream and becoming a champion for people living with disabilities.

Iván received the Champion of Inspiration award at the “Familia Unida” Dinner Gala at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in 2016. He also performed at the Special Olympics in 2015 and 2016. Most recently he has performed at the House of Blues venues in Anaheim, San Diego and Las Vegas to thousands of fans who have enjoyed the Iván Estrella de Los Angeles Tribute to Vicente Fernandez program. Iván is now preparing for a full tour across the continental United States.
